Logos Bible Software Announces $100,000 Data Creation Fund
Suggested Books
June 26, 2004 -- Logos Bible Software has created a $100,000 fund to support the creation of new academic reference projects designed specifically for electronic delivery. The company is accepting proposals through November 1, 2004 and will announce the list of funded projects at the Society of Biblical Literature Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX, on November 20, 2004.

"Our goal is to promote the development of new databases that will advance scholarly research in biblical languages," said Bob Pritchett, President and CEO, Logos Bible Software. "We believe there are many great projects in the academic community suffering from a lack of funding or distribution opportunities. Scholars partnering with Logos Bible Software will get immediate access to funding and wide distribution of the resulting research."

Logos seeks publication rights for data created by funded projects, which may be published electronically as stand-alone products, in print and electronic media, or integrated into existing databases. Logos will provide needed software and electronic books to project participants as well as custom tools for data processing and editing.

"We're interested in proposals for both large and small projects in mainstream and obscure research areas," said Pritchett. "Projects will be judged on their potential value for biblical studies."
